If you didn’t watch the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead then stop reading now. But if you did, then you know how frustrating it was to watch. The blood and guts didn’t really gross me out, that sort of thing happens every episode. It was how they producers went about killing both Glenn and Abraham that really was disconcerting.
And was I the only person who thought those allusions to everyone getting knocked over the head with Lucille were unnecessary? There was a legitimate point during the episode that I thought the entire crew was dead. That’s not cool at all. Now Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is my least favorite person ever.
In a recent TV appearance of Live with Kelly, Morgan discussed his character and the idea that the audience will eventually come to tolerate Negan. But no amount of humanity will make me not completely loathe this character. Now Rick is supposed to be “his” and the rest of the survivors will be left to do Negan’s bidding.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season it appears as though Carol and Morgan are going to either get themselves into trouble or bring trouble to Negan and the Saviors. So hopefully things will get better. But you really didn’t need to take both of these guys (whether it followed the comics or not). Thanks Abe and Glenn, it was real.
