Flawed Logic

So because I love griping about how city living sucks (but I promise you I love it, but talking about good things is never interesting) I wasn’t disappointed when I ended up disappointed from a trip to the Baltimore City Parking Authority.

On a weekend or after particular times the office tends to be a bit busier. Today wasn’t such a day as I strolled up the desk while there was only one other person being waited on. I am moving to a new location as soon as March but probs not completely moved (into a bigger and better house) until the end of April or somewhere around there. Anyways, I needed to get my annual parking permit renewed. In years prior I had been driving a car that had my Mom’s name on the title. So apparently that was the reason why I only needed certain identification and didn’t need to change my residence for the permit. Apparently now that I own my car I have to change my residence and show proof. AFTER TWO AND A HALF YEARS I need to prove that I live in Baltimore City. So they are essentially making it tougher on people that live in the city to get permits but if someone was just crashing at a place and needed a permit it would be easier.

What doesn’t make sense is that I already have a permit on that car and didn’t need any additional identification. Furthermore, when I move to the new residence it will be in a new area. This means that I have to get an entirely new permit for the car. The permits “must be stuck in the left corner of the windshield”. So I have to stick on my car to a month or two. Thanks.

To add insult the injury, if you have two current permits for two separate areas, you will likely get ticketed. So once I put this sticky fucking eyesore on my car for two months I then have to somehow remove it to put a different one on. How does that make any sense? And it costs money every time for each permit. I can’t use both permits but I have to pay for both of them?

Not that Baltimore City government will change any of this shit ever in the history of time because they obviously share in profits with the MVA. But this is supposed to help the city not hurt the people that live in it. Thanks for nothing, once again.

Sincerely,
A severely disgruntled Fed Hill resident
