The Infallible NFL Week 15 Straight Picks

After taking the time to really get picks together I had a little easier time with everything. After falling out of the top 100 percent of pickers everywhere it became obvious that getting back in was necessary. Didn’t quite do that in one week, but a 12-4 week helps a lot. There were a couple surprises yet again with New Orleans continuing to have problems while the 49ers just can’t seem to figure it out. On the other end of things are the teams that beat both those teams and are trending upwards (though only the Panthers still have a fighting chance as far as the playoffs are concerned). Here’s a look at where we are and what the week looks like:

Week 14 12-4, Overall 143-64

Arizona at St. Louis. If either of these teams had decent offenses they would be a top 5 team in the NFL right now. The Rams aren’t far off, but Drew Stanton and the Cardinals backfield just isn’t the best. There’s plenty of talent at the wideout position to work with, but Stanton just doesn’t have the arm-strength to get them the ball. This might not be the sexiest game, but it will be filled with big hits. Rams 24, Cardinals 20

Pittsburgh at Atlanta. The Dirty Birds of Hotlanta have been better in the past few weeks, but don’t have enough to make any noise in the playoffs even if they win their terrible division. The Steelers had a huge comeback win against the Bengals last week and should have another big performance from Le’Veon Bell this week. Steelers 31, Falcons 17

Green Bay at Buffalo. Another big week from Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson has the Pack primed for a big playoff run. The Bills have been awesome on defense, but just can’t find the consistency on offense (mainly because of injuries) to keep in contention. This is very much a playoff game for these guys. I just don’t see it happening. Packer 27, Bills 17

How much of a dick will he be this time?
How much of a dick will he be this time?

Cincinnati at Cleveland. Both teams come off of tough losses. Cincy needs their running back duo to step up big. AJ Green has done his part. The defense needs to rediscover that early season form. The Browns have fallen off a bit and they can’t seem to close games out at all (aside from the beginning of the season). With Johnny Manziel at the helm things are ready to get interesting. Not sure this is the game that it happens. I’d love to pick the Browns in this one. Bengals 34, Browns 28

Houston at Indianapolis. Another tough game to pick will come down a touchdown or less. Arian Foster has been great since returning from injury and JJ Watt continues to play out of this world. Andrew Luck has found ways to win and the defense has picked things up when needed. If this is close at halftime, don’t be surprised to see the visitor come away with this one. Colts 35, Texans 31

Oakland at Kansas City. If the Chiefs think they have any chance of making it into the playoffs then this is do or die. Last week’s loss was bad enough, let alone the loss they took in Oakland. It was a big win against the 49ers, but KC needs this one more. The crowd at Arrowhead better be in full effect for this one. Chiefs 38, Raiders 28

Miami at New England. The Dolphins seem to be in a bit of a freefall and the Pats aren’t going to help them stop it. New England just keeps winning, but I’m not convinced just yet that they are a real Super Bowl contender. Ryan Tannehill needs to remember how he was playing a few games ago and Miami needs to find their running game again to slow down the Patriots’ passing attack. Patriots 20, Dolphins 17

Beckham is quickly becoming a star.

Washington at NYG. Eli Manning played his best game in a while. It wasn’t great. But he’s been pathetic for a while now. Odell Beckham is for real. And the running game was better than mediocre. Meanwhile, the Skins can’t buy a win and even Alfred Morris final joined in on the misery of this season. Giants 24, Redskins 20

Tampa Bay at Carolina. This is gonna be boring. Thanks Cam Newton. Panthers 17, Buccaneers 14

Jacksonville at Baltimore. Two teams going in opposite directions. The Ravens fly high in this one. Ravens 41, Jaguars 17

Denver at San Diego. Philip Rivers isn’t done with this season. If the Bolts lose, they most certainly win need to win out. Will it happen? Broncos 31, Chargers 21

NYJ at Tennessee. Another yawn-fest. And lots of running. Jets 28, Titans 24

Minnesota at Detroit. This one likely will be more entertaining than many could have imagined a few weeks ago. Still, the Lions are playing at home and Megatron is playing at the top of his game. Lions 34, Vikings 24

San Francisco at Seattle. This is always a war, but Colin Kaepernick isn’t playing well and the Seahawks are. Advantage Seattle. Seahawks 30, 49ers 24

Dallas at Philadelphia. Should be an exciting game…for the offenses. Eagles 45, Cowboys 35

New Orleans at Chicago. Sunday Night Football Part 2. Saints 41, Bears 38
